this book works more as a summary of the movie than a standalone book. with that being said, i still enjoyed it because i loved the movie. the writing style is quite simple and to the point which i personally enjoyed. there are a few instances of sexism which bothered me, but overall, the book was quite a refreshing read. i related to the main characters and their struggles. i would've preferred if the book had taken more liberties with the plot, hence the 3.75 stars.
