my next YA series reread!! really liked this one definitely a very interesting dystopian and not as cringe as similar books. love aria and perry and had a good ending.
Series gets 4 stars. I liked the entire character cast & the world; the writing was immersive & well done. Realistic jealousy/doubts but no love triangle, yay! Missing the fifth star because it wasn't anything startling or out of the ordinary for future (fantasy?) dystopian YA. Not many surprises but I loved loved reading them.
This final installment of Veronica Rossi's Under the Never Sky trilogy is a fun and entertaining to the last page. While the book and the series itself is a bit predictable and follows the current abundance of YA dystopian trilogies, Rossi has a talent for developing characters that are loveable and endearing. I rarely make it through an entire trilogy or series but had no difficulty with this one.

I was so nervous going into this as I have not had much luck with dystopian trilogies. Between Alliegent, Requiem and Mockingjay I’d almost given up on the idea of a good solid dystopian trilogy. But Veronica Rossi pulled it off well staying true to who her characters were. Even though it isn’t all roses and sunshine it was a solid action-packed ending to an incredible sci-fi experience. I went through all spectrums of emotions from happiness and longing to worry and strife. I laughed at times and cried at others for these characters I’ve become incredibly attached to.
Perri, Aria and Roar are together again and for once just because there are two boys and a girl there is not a love triangle to drive the story. I want to thank Veronica Rossi for not putting a love triangle into her story it was beautiful the way it was. Time is ticking and if they are going to make it into the still blue there are many things that have to be accomplished, first and foremost they have to find Cinder.
But there are so many other problems too. The dwellers and the outsiders have to learn to work together and even that is a struggle. Not to mention that Cinder is being held by Sable a mad man who is as cold as he is cunning.
”He is a nightmare. A demon that wears a smile as he sinks his fangs into you.”
As bad guys go Sable is pretty good at being evil and he’ll tell you so. He’ll make a convincing argument for why he had to do everything he has done up to this point and is just narcissistic enough not to understand why you might still hold a grudge against him.
The other books of this series were driven more by the characters and the development of those characters. The Still Blue departs from that and it is an action adventure. The cost of the Still Blue is high and not everyone will be able to make it there alive. Alliances will be made and allegiances broken along the way. Being blood lord comes at a cost and sometimes you have to do what is best for the group regardless of what you want yourself.
”I’m thinking this,” Soren said. “Sable killed Perry’s sister. Perry killed his own brother. My father and Sable both left thousands of their people to die. I’m dependent on drugs to keep me sane. And we’re the ones who are trying to start over? How are we the best hope for a new world?”
Well when you look at it that way it doesn’t seem that promising. There were many heart pounding moments and I feared for most of the main characters throughout the story.
Roar is driven mad with grief and the dynamic is off between the three amigos in the beginning. There is an unusual tension between them, with Aria stuck in the middle. Good thing Soren is there for some humor and to add a little levity to the story. Perri and Aria do get some tender on page time for the hopeless romantics out there like me. I maybe wanted a little more time spent on their romance but I’m greedy like that. It was sweet and perfect and never took over the actual story.
"I see you in everything. There isn’t a word for you that means enough, because you’re everything to me.”
I’ve never wanted to be called night crawler so bad in my life. Perri was really The Man in this book and stepped into my heart even more that in the previous two novels. Some of the things his character went through really showed how strong a leader and a man he really was. I always love Roar but Perri wins this round.
Into the Still Blue was a wonderful conclusion to an interesting and original story. This is a great series for anyone that is a fan of YA Sci-fi, dystopias or minor romances.

This book had a few beautiful gems, more of the romance I loved in the first two books, and was all around a great way to wrap up the series. Most third installments of YA dystopian trilogies end in a way that makes me want punch walls down and shatter glass (you might know exactly which books I’m talking about). However, I have no complaints about this one, except for (hypocritical me) it being a little too… easy on the eyes. But I don’t want to spoil anything.
The science fiction part of it (which is borderline fantasy) was easy to understand and relate to, unlike other books I’ve read. Also, it was short. Which was actually awesome. I didn’t want another end-of-series book to be a long, drawn-out wrapping up of all the series’ events (*coughHarryPottercough*), and it definitely didn’t disappoint. I blew through this book and didn’t find anything terribly annoying, if not just unexplained or glanced over. (Okay, there was one thing involved one particular character that I was disappointed with. It seemed a weird way to wrap up something so significant).
Overall, I was happy with it, and I would definitely recommend reading it if you've read the first two books.

Rossi weaved an imaginative story from the first book. She hooks us on the characters, develops the story through the second book, leaves us hanging for the third and final book. Boy does it deliver! There is hope, love, tragedy, and triumph. Great books... I loved them all. Sometimes the final books can drag out or I might lose interest, but not in this case.
I am looking forward to Rossi's next venture.

4.5. I really liked this series, even if the love story was a little hokey.
Ahhhh I really loved this last book! I'm really sad that it's over though! I want more Perry and Aria and Roar! series review to come
I already miss everything about this series terribly. <33
