"...You know how hard it is to find trustworthy people. How impossible it is. People will turn on each other for the smallest reasons. For a meal, they will toss a friendship aside. For a warm coat, they will stab each other in the back. They steal. They lie and betray. They lust for what they can't have. What they do have isn't enough. We are weak, wanting creatures. We are never satisfied."
Always hard to describe the finale of a YA trilogy without giving too much away. I am very late to the game on this fantastic set of books - fresh words that capture two worlds colliding in a dystopian (possibly pre-history) atmosphere. Rossi transports the reader. Get ready for more love and for more loss - heartbreaking, unfair loss. The ending could have packed a wee bit more punch in my humble opinion, but I am mostly glad where it landed. I think every school library should have a set of these!

I loved this series! I'm sad that I won't be able to spend more time with Aria, Perry, and Roar. I loved the dynamic between all of them. It's so refreshing to see a loving, platonic relationship between two characters like Aria and Roar, rare in literature especially in this age group. I'd love to hear more about Roar, Lorcan, and Talon (did I mention ROAR?!!!), as well as their lives in their new home. I'd love an epilogue, but this book kicked ass on its own.
This was a very good book and i wish i could have read it in one go but again school slowed me downs
The book has many twists and turns and will keep you on the edge of your seat while also easing you in comfort with the growing love story between Aria and Peregrine.

I don't even know where to begin with this review.
I discovered this series last spring and immediately fell in love with the concept and the characters. Ms. Rossi made me wait almost an entire year for the conclusion, but I was NOT disappointed. This was a great start to a long line of finales that are due out this year. WELL DONE VERONICA ROSSI!!
So ITSB. Conclusion. The end. Finale. I didn't have many expectations going into it because, similar to Allegiant, I felt like I couldn't even imagine what was coming. The only hint I had at the beginning was that they were going into the still blue. That was what drove the entire book. Everything else was unimaginable and unexpected and beautiful. We got a lot of answers (and more questions, but I hope to ask those when I see Veronica Rossi on tour), and I'm so happy with how everything turned out. Yes, the ending was tied up a little too nicely for "reality", but I really don't care because my characters survived and everything worked out.
At the beginning I was nervous because I had heard someone rate this book at 2 stars (partially because Roar wasn't himself for most of the book), but by the middle I was in full fangirl mode and I wanted to cry and laugh every few pages. I will always say that this book has some of the best characters (the best cast of characters too) out of all the books I've read. These characters are comparable to Harry Potter or The Mortal Instruments in the sense that I don't really hate any of them. I value each of them and I care about all of them. Of course, I may be impartial to Perry and Roar (and Soren???) but maybe that's just me. I loved how human this book was because there was betrayal and compromise and love and hate and it never felt fake at all (well, until everything magically worked out). I was glad that the author gave a small explanation about the magnetic pocket or whatever, but I wish we got more information on that (like where is the Still Blue located on the modern day earth?) There was minimal explanation about Cinder (I really wish we got some closure about him), but I felt like what was said made sense. ALSO as I added above I LOVE THE NEW SOREN OMG and the fact that he and Brooke hit it off and that he is friends with Roar now like AH. Speaking of AH moments, the few pages before we were told, I figured out Loran was Aria's father and I almost lost it. I was just baffled and excited and happy. I'm so glad that he played such a vital role, and I think he is an awesome character.
I will admit that part of the book reminds me of the end of Catching Fire because I did read parts and think "CHAOS OMG WHAT IS GOING ON WHAT JUST HAPPENED" but in the end it all worked out. I was so happy during so much of it because of the bonds that were made and the relationships and like THE END WHEN THE TIDES DON'T COMMENT ON PERRY'S PRESENCE AND THEY PROTECT HIM AND THEN HE GETS SABLE LIKE AHHHHHHHHH ALMOST REAL TEARS. Part of me thought when Perry was lost that it was gonna be some Allegiant type ending but thankfully that didn't happen. I also thought Sable was a crazy villain? Like, he seemed realistic and not overly villainous like he did want Aria to be his right hand woman but like he wasn't technically forcing her? Idk he was complex and even though I wanted to wring his neck, I did appreciate his existence...kinda.
THE LEADERSHIP COUNCIL WAS A GREAT IDEA
(I was really convinced that Liv was gonna show up and be all "NOT DEAD!" but then she didn't and I'm just so sad for Roar)
Part of me wishes that Aria had lost Perry because then she and Roar could bond and stay strong for each other but...yeah I'm glad that didn't happen.
IM JUST SO FILLED WITH FEELS AND IM SO THANKFUL FOR THIS SERIES AND THIS BOOK AND I LOVED IT YES GOOD JOB AUTHOR

I can't believe it's over.
It's really over.
I'm forever swooning over Aria and Perry. They are so god damn perfect for each other it's sickening. But oh well, FOREVER SWOONING GUYS!
Aria also just keeps getting better and better with every book. I don't think I've ever been annoyed by her and I know for sure I've never not liked her character. She can do no wrong in my eyes. While Aria was amazing in my eyes, I feel like I was sitting more on the edge of my seat when it came to Perry. It's kind of hard to explain but just know that I was a constant worry wart for him.
Pretty sure I liked every character in this book, even the villain Sable. I don't know how Veronica Rossi did it but man - I was just falling in love with everyone. Other than that, It was very hard to put this book down. I was never bored while reading it. Yes, I ended up liking every character - which amazed me since I hated Brooke for the longest time. Maybe it's because it's Christmas but I'll giver her one point for being likable while drinking champagne.
I can't wait til I reread this series, because YES I WILL. It was so good and I don't think I will be able to last very long with Aria and Perry in my life.

3.5/5 Stars
I really liked Roar-Aria friendship since the first book. I can felt the closeness and the intimacy between them. I even liked their friendship more than Perry-Aria relationship.
And the ending felt rushed, flat, and predictable for me. I expected a twisted or shocking conclusion. Well.. maybe this was just because of my high expectation.
But I still enjoyed the story anyway.

Extrañaré a Roar, Aria, Perry y compañía..

Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I was way disappointed with this book. I loved the first two in this series, but this one felt pretty under par.
First off, there were plot holes that drove me nuts.
Oftentimes, the author's attempts at creating tension and moving the plot along felt too mechanical or just didn't make sense.
The characters were mostly fine. There were times when I felt like I couldn't completely understand Aria. Also, Sable was a very two-dimensional, predictable villain. He was so evil that it almost got boring. I like more back story on the villains and less black and white villains.
There were deeper themes the author could have explored but didn't. The concept of having to leave people behind was brushed aside as. And even grief was sped through.
I wish I could say I enjoyed the ending, but that kind of bugged me as well. Loose ends were wrapped up too neatly. After such a gritty novel, I didn't expect a happily ever after ending.
All of this being said, I still enjoyed getting to see the characters again. I especially appreciated the growth in them. Originally I planned on giving this book three stars. However, there were just too many things that bugged me.
2 Stars.

In the other books, auds had stellar hearing and people knew they had no privacy. In this book, secret conversations happened all of the time and stayed secret. Hmmm... Also, how on earth did Perry make it alive through the water fall when only a few pages earlier the characters realized that going by boat would have been suicide? Plus, how is Cinder keeping the waterfall open for Perry to pass through if Cinder's drowning in the ocean?Oftentimes, the author's attempts at creating tension and moving the plot along felt too mechanical or just didn't make sense.

Roar's grief baffled me. He felt guilty for Liv's death. Then he assumed Perry blamed him. So of course that made Roar fuming mad at Perry. Huh?The characters were mostly fine. Aria and Perry are determined to reach the safe haven of the Still Blue to protect the Tides and the surviving Dwellers. However, they are in a desperate situation with them stuck in a cave as the aether storms are getting worse and Sable and Hess have kidnapped Cinder for his abilities. Perry and Aria assemble a small rescue team to save Cinder and to get what they need to travel to the Still Blue. With the bonds of friendship being tested and the world dying will Aria and Perry be able to stay together and save everyone.
Into the Still Blue is the enjoyable final book in the Under the Never Sky trilogy, it was a bit predictable but fast paced. This series has action, adventure, romance and an interesting story.
Aria has grown in this series as has more confidence and has developed into a natural leader, with both the Dwellers and the Tides. Perry is the same from the previous books as he is strong, protective and loyal, but is also struggling with the loss of Liv. I also liked that Aria and Perry were together during most of the book as they are best when not separated. There are two other characters that I find really interesting in this book, firstly Sorren, as it is interesting how he has changed from a villain to one of the good guys, and secondly Roar as I felt very sorry for him and I like his relationship with both Perry and Aria.
This ended much better than most dystopian series as it ends just as satisfyingly as the first two books, and I am looking forward to what Rossi does next. I would recommend Into the Still Blue to fans of the first two books.
