This was fun! I read so many stand-alones that I keep forgetting how thrilling series can be. Which is odd, considering that, statistically, I have more successes with the series I choose than with the stand-alones. But yeah, Veronica Rossi, I salute you! The ending of this one was a bit rushed, I think, but maybe I was the one who rushed it, reading as fast as I could, so i could finally know how it was going to end. There's still the question about the millions of people that used to live in the still blue and now are not there anymore. Maybe something like the apocalypse happened? Rossi's next book will be something related to the apocalypse, won't it? I wonder if we'll be able to join the two worlds, just so we can have some closure, in a way.
OH, WELL! I can't wait to read more of Rossi's work, sh's sure become a favorite very quickly :)

I liked the second book a bit more, but I enjoyed this one as well.

This was a fairly good series for me. The concept it centers around-people called "Dwellers" living in pods protected from the real world with advanced technology and people living in the outside world, both of which are affected by crazy storms-is good, and it seems a bit cliché but there were some interesting touches.
I absolutely love the characters. I hated the ones I was supposed to hate and loved the ones I was supposed to love, and the character development was really awesome. No one ever had a much-too-sudden change of heart, the changes fit the characters based on their previous personality and what happened around them, and it all seemed believable. The characters were what really hooked me on this series and made it difficult to put the books down. Especially in this book, the characters were really amazing.
The main thing I had a problem with was the plot. It felt like all the important scenes were very rushed and oftentimes were unbelievable, which was most problematic in the battle scenes. There just wasn't enough believable conflict, which kind of drew me out of the story and made me question how plausible it was. The writing just didn't cover all the things it needed to plot-wise and devoted more time to some things and less time to others than I would have liked.
Overall, I thought the series was good and definitely worth reading. Although the plot, especially when it centered around fighting, could have been better, I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice, quick read with wonderfully written characters.

Meh.
That's all I can say.
We spend 3 books trying to figure out how they're gonna get to the still blue and then it's like - oh, cinder can do it - and oh yeah his death is gonna be like nothing and totally anti-climatic. And sable, knowing two of the most dangerous guys have escaped once they're there like doesn't have soldiers or anything set up?? And after all this stuff about the still blue we don't find out anything about it other than that it's beautiful?
I listened to this as an audio book and it took me MONTHS to get through it bc I never cared enough. So yeah, 2 stars.

You know its good when everything feels like it's drawing to a close but there are still 150 pages left. You flip every page wondering when the pin is going to drop and all the carefully laid plans are going to shit the fan.
This series is mind blowing. There, I said it.
To begin, the bad guys are completely relatable. Even though Sable did have a bit of a psycho side, both him and Hess had a reason why they did things.
Perry's struggle to handle the Tides and his divcoverings about leadership were so realistic I found myself worrying over his issues too.
Aria was a very likeable character. She had her strenghts and her flaws. Suffered enough to say she went through a lot, without seeming like a martyr, since everyone else went through a lot.
In general, very fullfilling books that left me thoroughly satisfied.

For a conclusion, it was a bit slow. I really expected to see everyone adapting in the Still Blue, but their trip was too long ! Plus, in the end, I didn't care about the characters anymore... When Aria thought Perry was dead, I felt NOTHING. It's sad. Still, I liked this trilogy, especially the universe and the fact there wasn't love triangle.
