I’m tempted to downgrade it to 2 stars only because I felt like it has the potential to be 5 stars and never made it there. For example, certain things are drawn out too long before being explained. Overall it’s not amazing, but it is memorable.
Better and creepier than expected, though everything sorta went off the rails at the end and became a little unbelievable.

I don’t know why anything happened and a lot happened. Like there was no reason for any of it. Kit let a lot of shit go down… I blame her for everything!

I seriously have zero idea why I read all the way through this other than it was an audiobook and I was on a road trip and couldn’t scroll to find something else.
It’s supposed to be a big “I know her secret” thing but for the life of me I couldn’t figure out why these two characters were bonded at all. There were these flashbacks to “then” but at the end of every one of them kit goes to great lengths to say that she still didn’t trust Diane or thing she was a good person and she wanted to tell her secret.

SO THEN WHY DID SHE GO ALONG WITH DIANE WHEN ALEX DIED?!? I genuinely do not understand and it made both characters really unenjoyable for me.
I hope you like this book more than I did.

Wouldn’t recommend to someone who usually enjoys psychological thrillers. I was just confused reading this😭. Personally, I felt the story wasn’t going anywhere and I didn’t have that excitement of turning the page to see what happens next that I usually get from thrillers. Sometimes there were chapter breaks and sometimes there weren’t which again was confusing (maybe that’s the point, but I wasn’t a fan). It’s not all negative though! There were some funny parts (mostly from Kit’s colleagues being idiots) AND I have learnt more about PMDD which is a plus but not enough to save my overall opinion.
