Another great installment in this epic family saga about love, friendship, politics, making history, loyalty and betrayal. Of course, there were yet again some convenient plottwists and I didn't think this was as good as book one and two, but it's still highly entertaining and super addictive. There were still quite a few events I didn't see coming that left me in shock. Especially concerning Jessica and of course the final twist at the end. In true Archer fashion, this fourth book ends with a cliffhanger - and I probably won't wait that long before I read book 5. I've got to find out what happened!

Booked Book Club July 2022

Free read for July - so I'm continuing my series that I've been hooked on for the past few months. I'm glad I waited to read this series now that all the books are out - I can see how the cliffhanger endings can be frustrating.

We enter another era with the Barrington's and the Cliftons. It's interesting to see how everything comes together now 50 years after the series started. I will say in this one though I started having trouble following some of the people. Too many people being introduced and I have a hard time placing everyone, but maybe it will be important in future books (there's still 2 left in the series).

Be prepared for some tragedies, some twists and turns, and more people to remeber!

Better one in the series Clifton Saga. I was going to leave this series half-way, it was so mediocre !!!! Anyways, found this one best among all other books in this series !

I continue to read the Clifton chronicles. Every one has a total cliff hanger ending, so you MUST read the next. Because of Archer's background, there might be a smidge more detail than you needed about running for a seat in Parliament. That's the quibble. Plus, I really hate it when a character I care about dies. For no apparent purpose. That's not a quibble. The stories about the Clifton and Barrington families are just engrossing, no matter how much you wish you could just stop....

I have friends who will not read a series of books until they have brought them all. Having been frustrated at having to wait until 2015 to see how this ends I am beginning to see there point. That is how good this series of books it. I was frustrated at the end of the last one and I am frustrated at the end of this one. I hate waiting.

The story starts exactly where the last left us and continues the story of all the characters we have come to love in the Clifton Chronicles. As the novels progress the author focuses more on the next generation of Clifton's and how there life progresses. The author has also introduced some new characters who are just as engaging as previous characters.

The story is full of the traditional intrigue and excitement. I have always loved Jeffrey Archer books and this series is one of my favourites. Can't wait to read the last in the series even if I have to wait until 2015.

I must say I am disappointed by this book. Let me be clear if someone is reading Jeffrey Archer's books for the first time and clifton chronicles is the first series, he/she is going to love it. But I am no first time reader. I read most of his books. This book is in no way different than his previous works. Its like a mashup of all his works before. I never took ten days to finish a Jeffrey Archer book. I am not even excited about "Mightier than Sword". This series is just a drag
