A good cloak and dagger, but somewhat predicatable. The characters are too perfect for my taste - the hero is gorgeous, an amazing painter, fantastically skilled at martial arts and of course has a stunning wife. No real surprises, but entertaining.

It was good, but did not compel me to read the rest of the series.

Very enjoyable, but just ever so slightly a step down from the previous books in the series. I actually would give it 4 1/2 stars.

This was my first book by the author and I was concerned about starting so far into this series, but I had no problem following. Really good.

When an art restorer is killed in the UK during a botched robbery Gabriel is asked by his old friend the art dealer, Julian Isherwood to track the missing Rembrandt down. So what initially appears to be a nice exercise of Gabriel’s intellect and skills quickly morphs into another national security emergency. So it’s a reprise of the Holocaust, Argentina, and Swiss bankers we’ve seen in previous books with a new adversary added. Lots of action and twists as usual.
