A sort of pre-Nancy-Drew Nancy Drew book, written in 1916. In fact I lost some respect for Nancy Drew in the reading of this one, because Nan's full name is Nancy and her best friend is named Bess. JUST LIKE NANCY DREW. [a:Carolyn Keane|1442189|Carolyn Keane|http://www.goodreads.com/images/nophoto/nophoto-U-50x66.jpg], could you not have been more original? Anywho. Your classic mystery where nothing is ever really awful and the all-girls' school is catty but charming and the schoolmistress is beautiful and kind and everything is tied up very neatly at the end, except for the clever lead-in to the next book.
