I don't care what age she ended as; you don't get to introduce us to the main character as a literal child, keep her as a literal child through most of the book, and also make her the yearning love interest of a grown adult.

I think this book's rating is artificially inflated compared to other books because it's so long - the people who aren't enjoying it give up reading it instead of "hate finishing" it and then they aren't able to give a star review.

Like normally i usally only quit a book very early on because I don't like the vibe or the writing style. I usually finish books if I get a good chunk through, even if I start not enjoying them because I'm like fuck it let's finish it I'm already _% of the way through. But this one.. I'm so many hours left lol I can't justify it.

I agree with the other reviewer who did not finish a few reviews down. Beginning was interesting. I liked the writing. But the second POV was confusing and then it started to drag and it felt like nothing was happening.

have a feeling the stories will connect and then it will get really good??? Maybe ??

3 and a half stars rounded down. I thought the writing was beautiful and I will definitely check out this author's other books, but this one was too vague for me right now. I really enjoyed the first third, found myself slogging through the middle, and lost the plot at the end. It's absolutely not a bad book, but I was expecting a new favorite based on the praise I've heard and that's not what I got.
