Think Malificent, but with a twist. There's a tower, there's a princess stuck in the tower. There's a fairy godmother, but that fairy godmother is actually the child that was supposed to be the princess - but the Faeries stole her away and left a changeling in her stead. The princess is evil, and the fairy godmother is the only one with the power to stop her. This is her story.

I love T. Kingfisher's heroines. They're always so human. I say that in italics because this one became other. She, does her darndest to be better though. Hell she stayed by that tower for hundreds of years to do right by her human mother. This was an interesting take on Aurora's story (obviously she's not Aurora or sleeping beauty in this story), but I choose to believe this.

This was such a fun read. It was short and sweet. A great Fairytale.
