I really enjoyed this book when I first read it, but the narrator of the audiobook elevated the story to a whole new level.

I think I bugged out during my walk in that last stretch, because I’m not sure Kris was mad for long enough before he waltzed back into the Irish court and Loch assumed it was for him - it was, but idk he should have grovelled more!

Other than that - whoo boy this was a ride, a roller coaster even. I’m still not a huge fan of instant attraction, but I appreciate in this one that there was relationship building before it was acted on. And MAN, the tension between these two - and LISTENING to this narrator (who did an amazing job) - it was too much. It was so gay. I loved it.

I loved especially Coal and Kris. Their relationship is so good and special and it’s them against their parents and ain’t that so real. It felt so real. I did love Loch and his sisters too, and if the third book isn’t about Finn, I don’t want it LOL (i will read it regardless, IF one is comigg ng)

Took a little longer than expected to finish this book. While it carries the flavours of the previous book of the series, it has a slightly heavier tone with its family stifles. The sex is mildly clunky / cheesy but I suppose that is to show the two soft, anxious boys in love.
