Go Luck Yourself

In the Holiday kingdoms it’s hard to avoid the press, but St. Patrick’s court is nothing like the hustle and bustle of Christmas. Can Kris uncover a thief and protect his heart while playing ambassador for the tabloids? Y’all this is such a fun book. The tension is yummy to say the least. I want to hang out with all of these disaster royals.

Fantastic. I want 14 more of ‘em.

This romcom book hits harder than most. You might not expect it to based off the premise; a world where every holiday has a secret royal court and 2 princes of 2 very different holidays are enemies to lovers. You read that and think, surely this will be a funny fluff read. And it is, don’t get me wrong, it brought me immense joy and plenty of cackling.

But in addition to this, the topics facing each Prince felt authentic. From struggling to name emotional abuse done by a parent, to boundary setting with familial authority, fighting their inner critics, and wrestling with the desire to create art while still “being productive” in a career; the emotional impact of this book goes beyond just romance.

So yeaaaaah just read it!

I thought Nightmare Before Christmas was amazing but Go Luck Yourself was incredible 😍

I cannot even begin to describe how much I loved this book. Highlights include:

-Spice that is 🥵🥵🥵

-An incredibly well written plotline

-Witty banter that is actually witty

-Well done depictions of panic attacks and anxiety

-Prose that is gorgeous and evocative without being over the top

-Immaculate D/s vibes

Bonus points for the audiobook narrator who did an incredible Irish accent and actually pronounced Samhain correctly!!! (Seriously a huge pet peeve of mine when people don't bother to learn how to pronounce it correctly in media. I'm looking at you Supernatural and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina 😒)

I would give this book six stars if I could. Kris and Loch supremacy forever. 😍

Would've been 4.5 stars because Chapter 4 really annoyed me but
the twist was so unexpected for me
that it's back up to 5! Kept me enraptured the entire time, even when annoyed by characters. At one point I got such strong feelings due to a scene that I had to stop and process and then realized that was the author's intent, very good writing.
