Another excellent book in this series.

If I could give this book more than five stars I would because it was absolutely fantastic. In fact, I’m thinking of re-reading this book sooner than later. I had a 14 hour flight and I knew that I would not be able to sleep on it. So I have been planning how to pass the time for weeks. One of the things was to listen to this audiobook and I can honestly say that the 5 1/2 hours it took me to listen to it fully by on this plane. They were parts that were so engaging that I had to listen to them again and again. Book one in the series was a surprise hit for me because I wasn’t expecting to love it, but I did. I think if I was to be critical, I would say that I enjoyed book one more just because of the holiday being Christmas and hex is a favorite character. Regardless this reading experience was 10 times more so than the first one because of how much I loved these characters and going back into the world. in fact, as I’m writing this, perhaps I need to relisten to book one and two for the return flight. Hopefully this is not the last book in the series and we get more. Highly highly recommend.

This took me forever to finish. Nothing bad about it, but I didn’t like being in Kris’s head. I appreciate the nuance of his anxiety and self-doubt, but it was still an exhausting place to be. Also, not much happened plot-wise, and when that’s the case in a romance novel, I expect a bit more steam. Just so-so.
