I enjoyed Kayla’s story more than Daniels and therefore enjoyed this book more. I’m not sure if it because I had the background information which needed to be built up in Hitchhikers. At times I found all the new warewolves a little confusing – I couldn’t remember who they all were. But overall the story was a great. It started by retelling the timeframe that Daniel’s story covered but from Kayla’s point of view. We got to the point where Daniel’s story ended and moved further and Daniel re-joined the pack. Lots of action and drama as we divulged into the war between the Kayla’s pack and Ben’s/Geo’s pack. Kayla was a strong female alpha and it was interesting to see how the pack bond worked. There was a little romantic tension with Remy and also Daniel. Overall an enjoyable read.
I received a complimentary copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

This is one of those books that falls in the category of "Good for her" horror.
I read the first book quite some time ago, and this one picked up pretty much right after the first book in the series. I really enjoyed the new point of view, reading from Kayla and seeing a completely different side to the werewolf lore.
There are a lot of things to like about Spofford's wolves, and I really appreciated that they are not superhuman in strength, they have flaws, they are just regular people. I think the family dynamic was played really well in the book, and I like how things were explained in this one that were a bit unsettling in the first book.
I wish there had been a bit more of a conclusion, but given that it is a series, I'll just have to pick up the next book!
