This book would have been nice in the beginning of "Half Blood", I almost think it was a desperate attempt to get more money but oh well. It was good to see how she ended up at the abandoned building.

And thats how to start a series guys! I decided to continue with the series while waiting for my copy of blood and ash and a kingdom of flesh and fire.

A very short novella to kick off this paranormal series. Not sure if I'll be moving forward or not. No romance to speak of so it was just a bit of backstory and world building.

CW: death, parental death, blood/gore/body horror, unhoused people, assault, violence

I really really liked this book. It's a prequel to the Covenant Series of about 80pp or so. This is a brand new author and I must say that I am quite impressed.

We are introduced to seventeen year old Alexandria(Alex), a Half-Blood, and her Hematoi mother. Hematoi are children of gods and mortals, children of two Hematoi's are Pure- Bloods with god-like powers and half-bloods are children of a Hematoi and mortal with not so god-like powers. Alex and her mother run away from the Covenant, a place where the Hematoi live and train their Pure-Bloods and Half-Bloods alike to protect the Hematoi. Something tragic occurs and we are introduced to Daimons, Pure bloods who had become a type of vampire...

I will leave you to read the FREE prequel so that you can get the rest of the details. I loved the whole gods/mortal/pure bloods/half bloods focus. Something that kept me hooked was that it wasn't a story about vampires or the fae. This book has humor, wit, sadness, action and hints at a possible romance to be seen later in the series.

The first book Half-Blood will not be released until September 2011 which kind of sucks because I'm definitely hooked and will have to wait until then.

Note to author: *There were a few spelling mistakes* but great job so far!
