If you haven't read Half-Blood yet, this will make you want to read it. However, if you've already read it, this will explain what really happen to Alex
before Aiden and the sentinels found her on the warehouse
on the very start of the story in Halfblood.

I read the Half-Blood first so I thought, reading the prequel was unnecessary since I've already read the First book and Half way to Pure, but this was a light read and curiosity made me picked this book and started reading, and I was so happy I did. I get to understand the relationship of Alex and her mother. I never really realized how caring her mother and how close they were, since she's the only family she's got or so she believes the devastation she felt when she thought she died. I was satisfied as well that Alex wasn't really perfect. She's brave and strong and powerful and kick ass and that's great, but atleast we get to see the low moment of her life, when she was on the verge of giving up.

This was a short story that is necessary to the buildup of the character, Alex. I will make sure to read every short story this series have. :)

Daimon was an awesome introduction to the Half-Blood series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I've been told by several bloggers that I needed start this series, and when the publisher offered this prequel e-book for free, I couldn't resist. I've been hearing things about Jennifer's work for a very long time, since the ARCs for Half-Blood were being distributed, so I knew there was definitely something good here.

Let me just say this: the moment I finished Daimon, I jumped onto my computer and ordered Half-Blood. That's how good this prequel novella is. We're introduced to Alex, who is a pretty kick butt heroine! This was a pretty short little snippet of her story, so I don't feel like I really got to know her well, but from what I saw I know I'm going to like her very much. I'm definitely eager to read Half-Blood very soon, and I give Alex a solid 8 on the Bad-Ass Meter.

Full of action and written superbly, I recommend Daimon for anyone that wants to get a taste of Jennifer L. Armentrout's work. 5 out of 5 stars.

Heureusement que j'ai commencé la saga par cette nouvelle, qui permet de mettre en place l'histoire, et qui aide à la compréhension.

I wish I would have read this installment before Half-blood, but alas I was in such a hurry to start an Armentrout book that I just dove right in. This story takes place before the events of Half-Blood, showing you the 'death' of her mother, and how she copes with that on limited skills seeing as they ran from the academy when she didn't have her training completed.

I love all of Armentrouts female characters, they are just the right amount of vulnerable and smart to make me want them to kick butt and hand the bad guys their names.

It is a nice preguel to half-blood and gives you a little bit more background before reading half-blood. It isn't neccesary to read Daimon before Half-blood, because in half-blood there will be a short recap about what happened in Daimon. But it is still nice to read. I will write a nice review about half-blood and keep this one short.

Es una historia corta e introductoria, me alegro de haberla leído antes de empezar con el primer libro de la saga ya que pude entender mejor el universo y la situación en la que se encuentra el personaje principal (sobre todo porque el primer libro empieza justo cuando acaba este).

I am trying to fill the Poppy & Casteel sized hole in my heart by reading a different series by JLA (so far it is not working). Daimon is a short novella introducing the character of Alexandria, a half-blood being pursued by demons. It was a fine start but didn't feel at all like a fully fleshed out story. I'll be interested to see what happens in Half-Blood, the first full-length novel in the series.
