Wohohoy.. Akhirnya aku menemukan serial baru yang worth it untuk di baca maraton!! Daimon uhuk bukan Daemon yaa.. adalah prolog dari seri tentang para keturunan para demigod Yunani, Covenant. Nama Jennifer L Armentrout sudah kukenal sebelumnya dari serial Lux yang bercerita tentang alien seksi yang juga sukses menyetrum hatiku.
Sebagai prolog, Daimon sudah bekerja dengan sangat baik. Si heroine Alexandria yang sassy, smart, tomboy dan punya energi berlebihan sangat menarik perhatian. Dengan kelakuan susah di atur, mulut sarkastik yang harus rajin di laundry plus skill bertahan hidup yang luar biasa membuat Alex langsung mendapatkan hatiku sejak scene pertamanya hihihi..
Awal kisah ini misterius dimana Alex dan ibunya selalu berpindah tempat untuk menghindari sesuatu yang Alex juga tak pernah diberi tahu. Tapi hal itu membuatnya harus keluar dari sekolah khusus untuk calon sentinel, yaitu pasukan elit pemburu daimon dan hidup di dunia manusia selama 3 tahun.
Daimon jelas cuma novelas, tapi 62 hal ini memberi kita cukup banyak kesempatan untuk mengintip sekilas apa yang akan kita dapatkan di buku-buku utamanya. Misteri, pertempuran seru, kejutan-kejutan, hottie heroes, figuran yang menawan, banter kocak, seksi scene. Can't wait to read the first book, Half Blood.

Daimon is the beginning of the Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. It is not a full length book, just a novella showing what happened to Alex before being rescued and taken to the Covenant.
You know what I am excited for right? You guess it. Daimon leads into Half-Blood and we meet Aiden St. Delphi, but I am getting ahead of myself. This really won't be a really long review because this is maybe only 80 or some odd pages.
This novella starts out with Alex coming home to her mom after her having a "normal" teenage day with her boyfriend at the beach. Well. Not so normal. Two guys came up to her and her boyfriend and they were pushing them around. Well Alex doesn't put up with no crap. So they touched her arm and she kicked their butts.
Well her boyfriend freaked out and called her a freak and broke up with her after she defended his butt. What a jerk and a baby. She also might have seen a daimon on the way home from the beach.
She comes home has a chat with her mom and she tells her that she has to straighten up the porch that is full of gardening stuff. Yes, this is important don't argue.
They have some nice mother and daughter time then Alex sleeps in the next morning. She goes out and starts working on the garden when she feels the shiver that comes along with the Daimons. She rushes upstairs holding a garden spade in a rush to get to her mom. When she comes into the room her mom is in the floor surrounded by blood and her favorite flower, hibiscus. She is being drained by a daimon, the Damion drops her and jumps toward her. Alex didn't even realize that she had the spade in her hand. The spade was covered with titanium, which kills daimons instantly. The daimon runs into the spade and explodes into blue powder. Alex rushes to her mom's side, but she is too late. Her mom is dead.
Another Daimon appears and Alex is forced to go on the run. She did manage to grab her's and her mom's cash stash so she can try to get back to the Covenant. She catches several buses, is attacked, and robbed while trying to make her way to Nashville to the Covenant.
The novella ends with her running to a barn or abandoned warehouse where Half- Blood starts.
What can I say about this book? It's awesome of course. It is by Jennifer L. Armentrout of course it is amazing. She has never disappointed me with her books and she makes the yummyiest book boyfriends ever. I will never get enough of her books. One of my book bucket list is to read every single one of her books this year and review them. With that I end my review.

Free download from goodreads, how could I resist? It totally turned me on to a new series. I bought the ebook instantly after finishing this short.
I only read this because it was in my copy of Half-Blood, but to be honest it captured my attention very well. I looked once and saw that I was on page 8, and then I looked again and I’d finished it.

The first time I read this book was because of a friend of mine who I share the same taste in books (thanks Eunice) but the first time I read it, it didn’t really connect with me that much. I don’t know why but it didn’t. You might be asking why I reread it? I reread it because of Obsidian which exteremely awesome and addicting! I was also hesitant to read that book because of how I felt about this book but when I got HOOKED with Obsidian I told myself I have to give the Covenant series another try which I did and was totally happy that I gave it another shot.
For you to really get the feel of this series I think its necessary to read this prequel first. Daimon shows you what happened before the first chapter of Half Blood. It shows you a the major plot line that will be further stretched out in the next books. It deals about Mythology like I’ve never seen before. I mean I love Greek Myth spin-off like Starcrossed and the Goddess Test but this one is very different. It has an entirely different feel to it which makes it all the more intriguing and interesting.
What I really loved about this was the writing style. I love fast-paced books and this one was one of them books that will keep you at the edge of your seat. There were no dull moment here I tell you. Ms. Armentrout, I am so in love with you!
