A nice little insight to Alex and her mother's life before things go wrong. Gives a bit more background on Alex generally which was good to read about.
The premise for the Convenant series sounds interesting but I didn't find Daimon all that compelling.
I liked the main character Alex. She's a strong, kick-ass female character but not one without flaws. When she loses the only family in the world she doesn't go on as if nothing happened. She shuts herself away, she grieves.
Unfortunately Daimon left me feeling indifferent, even during and after the death scene which isn't how it should be. I should feel sad for Alex and be shocked but I wasn't.
The good thing about this prequel was the included first chapter of Half-Blood which left me craving for me. As I'm only rating the prequel this doesn't come into play.
I will pick up Half-Blood when it comes out.

I won’t give many details about Daimon.This will be a short review because i don’t want to give many details and because i want you to read it.Daimon is a ebook in which we learn about the main characters from Covenant series,Alex.

Esta es la precuela de Mestiza, el primer libro de la saga Covenant que nos narran unos hechos previos al primer libro. Nos cuenta la huida de Alex y su madre.
Y sobre el primer enfrentamiento de Alex con los Daimons que son seres que fueron puros, pero sucumbieron ante el éter y ahora son mounstros adictos a este elixir presente en la sangre de los puros (en mayor cantidad) y en los mestizos (en menor cantidad).
Los mestizos están destinados a ser Centinelas (matan Daimons, son los únicos que pueden ver su verdadera forma) o a servir a los Hematoi (que también se les llama puros).
Los Hematoi son producto de la unión entre dioses y mortales, si 2 Hematois se unen tienen a un Puro.
Un mestizo es el resultado de la relación entre un Hematoi y un ser humano (o mortal).
Todo este tema de Hematois, Puros, Mestizos, Dioses y Daimons ya se empieza a explicar en el primer libro de la saga.
Recomiendo empezar con esta precuela y seguir luego con Mestiza y el orden normal de la saga.

I am not entirely sure why this is a separate book from Half Blood... This book have very necessary information to start the series so it threw me off while reading it. You will definitely want to read this before starting book 1!

This didn't really blow me away, it was much too short for that, but it has made me curious enough to pick up Half Blood straight away. It's good that I read this prequel because from what I can tell Half Blood jumps right into the story and Daimon helps to understand this better.

Really interesting prequel.
You get to see what happened before Alex's Mum was attacked and what happened after that.
I found this more interesting to read after reading the first book in the series. You can however read it any time you want.
