This one caused such a slump :( I felt no connection to the characters at all. It also felt like there were no stakes with the plot until maybe the very end.

This story was so incredibly predictable. My 10 yo had the entire plot worked out by the time the heroes met the lady in green and the mysterious knight at the bridge. The writing quality of all these books is mediocre, but at least most of the fantasy in the stories tends to be fun and interesting. This one was just way too easy to figure out.

The bright side of it is," said Puddleglum, "that if we break our necks getting down the cliff, then we're safe from being drowned in the river."
