If you liked the first one, you'll like this one as well. Each issue of this graphic novel is almost self-contained enough to read by itself, but this volume of the series greatly advances the major plot as well. Looking forward to digging in to Volume 3.

Odd, yet fun and exciting. Started slow and picked up steam with the mystery, making more sense the deeper you get. John Cassady is one of my favorite artists.

I was pretty lukewarm on this series throughout the first (and most of this) volume. But I trust Ellis and his writing, and am I glad I stuck it out through this book! The story's been pretty interesting, but I felt a disconnect between myself and a lot of what was going on. I was having a tough time putting characters and relationships together, up until the last chapter in this volume. I feel like I'm waking up and remembering things along with Elijah as he remembers more and more about his past.

Definitely looking forward to volume 3!

This held up to the earlier Planetary episodes but was sometimes frustrating in it's "mysteriousness". There's a great issue which is a kind of what-if homage to a couple DC heroes who are not actually named. It's so creepy that I can't stop thinking about it. It's rare that I read something that powerful. I'm very interested in where this is story is going and can't wait to get the 3rd installment.

I felt roughly the same about this volume as the first, which is to say that I found the world enjoyable, but I'm still not invested in the characters. However, this volume ends with a much more dramatic ending that hints at an interesting mystery/plotline coming forth. Unfortunately, the build up to this reveal wasn't smooth or foreshadowed well. Nonetheless, I'll likely read further

OK... It's admittedly far weirder than I was anticipating. And more... "unpredictable" too. At this point I expect about anything to happen I guess.

Came back to this after putting it down for awhile. And without looking, didn't remember it at all.

Sure this is cool. And it is intentionally unoriginal. But it's also obscure and confusing. I find it helpful when books have a plot and they somewhat follow it. This series has vignettes lifted from other books - James Bond, The Hulk, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Superman, John Constantine, Indiana Jones - it is kind of annoying. But always cool.

The color of the art jumps out at you, vibrant but usually not garish.

It'd be nice if this made sense enough to care.

Finally getting back to the book club reading.

It took me 12 issues to finally get into this series. The first 11 just seemed like random stories, and for the most part they were until issues 12 tied them all together.
