I really enjoyed this book. This is different than other books this author writes with still having some dark parts, I mean they are serial killers so have to have those.
Cat and Bennett's story is just perfect. I laughed out loud so many times. They both have this hate relationship that definitely hides some attraction too.
When they get stranded together, you hold your breath wondering if they are going to hurt each other or jump into bed with each other. Only problem is as it seems they get closer, one of them wants to keep it a secret because their friends may not approve.
I absolutely loved Cat and Bennett and Bennett is just hot! Such a great book and enjoyed seeing all the other characters again. Can't wait for more!

Slay Ride is a quirky and entertaining read offering a unique blend of dark humor and suspense. We join Cat on her journey to achieve her first kill, which as expected if definitely complicated by Bennett.
The interactions between Cat and Bennett are definitely a highlight, providing all of the laugh out loud moments. The story keeps you engaged with unpredictable twists, making it difficult to put down. The dark humor is well-executed, adding a unique flavour and something a little bit different than your usual romantic comedy affair.
While the middle section felt a tad slow for me and I would have liked it if the romantic subplot had been slightly more developed, these however do not detract significantly from the overall enjoyment. If you’re after something a little bit different from Lauren then this was definitely a fun and engaging read sure to entertain anyone who has a sense of dark humour as twisted as mine.

I couldn't put this book down, nor could I with *Sinners Retreat*! This is the first time that a book—actually, two books in this case—had me literally laughing out loud. I usually maintain a good poker face in all situations, but this is the BEST dark romcom I've ever read! You might risk ruining a few food items while reading, but it’s definitely worth it overall! These were my first books by Lauren Biel, and I typically read dark romances. That said, I am incredibly excited to read more of her work, and the anticipation for the next book in the *Slaycation* series is very real!

Bennet and Cat's relationship goes from enemies to lovers, or was it truly just misplaced sexual tension the whole time? Cat decides to go on the Winter retreat in hopes to get her first kill. Especially since Bennet had mentioned he wasn't going, he wouldn't be able to kill block Cat. WARNING: Food is involved but it had me laughing so much!

Slay Ride by Lauren Biel is is book 2 in the slaycation series. This is a dark romcom and a follow up to Sinners Retreat. This is an absolutely fabulous genre that I never knew I needed. I laugh so hard at the dark humor and let me just say the food images are always a treat.
This story was about Cat and Bennet. For this trip we end up in Alaska. We get all sorts of excitement and fabulous banter as this dark love story unfolds.
I truly am enjoying this style of novel from Laren Biel and hope to read more!

I am genuinely confused—did I love this book, or was I disappointed? The characters? Obsessed. But the plot? Felt like we got dropped into a setting with no real drive or purpose. I was so excited for Bennett and Cat, but the over-the-top moments felt forced instead of flowing naturally, which pulled me out of the story more than I wanted. That said, the dark romance + comedy mix made it easy to slip back in. Maybe my expectations were too high, but this just didn’t hit like book one. I wanted Cat and Bennett to be my faves, but… sigh.
