Hilarious!
Loved the second installment of the Slaycation Series. I knew going into the second, it would be all unhinged laughs. And it did not disappoint. The food k*nks had me rolling throughout the book. I'll never see certain foods the same again.
Bennet and Cats hate turned lust turn love was great pacing. I know the timeline between books was a few months, but I felt their hate turned lust happened pretty fast. I loved their dialog and communication right off the bat.
The reasons why they had to keep their affair a secret was kind of lost on me but did make sense for the character growth especially for Cat. I really liked the winter retreat; it's not as prevalent as it is in the first book, though the funny group activity scenes were great.
Overall I really enjoyed Slay Ride and can not wait for the third!

Okay, so I just finished Slay Ride, and I loved it. It’s got this perfect mix of dark humor and spicy romance, with some seriously hilarious moments—I was actually laughing out loud at some of the one-liners. The enemies-to-lovers vibe between Cat and Bennett is so good, with all the banter and chemistry you’d want. It definitely gets dark and a little wild in places, but it still feels fun, if that makes sense? Oh, and definitely check the trigger warnings before jumping in, just in case. But overall, it was such a fun, chaotic ride—I gave it 4.5 stars!

Cat and Bennett's chemistry is off
the charts once they get past being
enemies! All the close calls of getting
caught while they keep their secret
keeps you on the edge of your seat!
I laughed out loud so many times 1
lost count. The side characters add so
much to the story, too. I love Lauren's
books so much, but I'm starting to
think her dark rom coms are becoming
my favorites.

If you know anything about Lauren's books, you know they are unhinged and this one is no exception. I don't quite know what to think of this one but it was darkly funny and macabre. If you don't like food play in your books you may want to skip this one because it was weird and plentiful but somehow hot? (I'm going straight to hell.) The steamy scenes were ....let's just say, they were interesting. ;)
I liked how the relationship between Cat and Bennett progressed and it was fun to witness their silly banter and refusal to believe they liked one another.
What else can I say but this one was a fun ride.

The chemistry between Cat and Bennett was everything. I loved how they went from enemies to lovers whilst still engaging in their banter, but instead of aiming to hurt the other it evolved into flirting.
Bennett is painted out to be this disgusting eff boy with no heart but he really isn’t, he just can’t be vulnerable with others until Cat knocks down his walls. He showed how much he cared for her and he was the one who stood by her side for her first unaliving, encouraging her the whole time. When he becomes possessive over her I was all in, even with his weird food fetish. I’m honestly surprised at how fast Cat indulged him with this fetish. Those scenes were certainly entertaining.
I will say that throughout most of this book I just wanted to throttled Kindra. She was so unjustifiably mean and rude to Bennett. I’m glad Cat was able to come to her senses and finally claim her man and put an end to Kindra’s torment.
I’m excited for book 3 and I hope we get to meet Ezra & Bennett’s half sister in it. I’m also excited to see more of Grim & Rosie, they might be my favourite couple.

Bennett isn’t a winter person, but he’s off to Alaska to torment Cat during the winter retreat. Oh boy, was he wrong! He hates her, yet his body betrays him.
Pineapple always reminds me of Bennett, and now Lauren has ruined another item or items for me. She keeps throwing rocks IYKYK, shocking me at every turn. Well, I already hated most of them since childhood except one, so whatever.
Every time he called her "Kitten," it reminded me of how I used to hate Sylus calling the MC that and now I love it. Yes yes I giggled when Benny boy said it.Am I in heaven? This is the third ARC of the month with a pierced 🍆 . Bennett is such a goner. He went above and beyond for her. Their banter was worth all the laughter. I loved every bit of it.
Thank you Booksirens and Lauren for this ARC. This is my honest review.

Turkey. Taters. Taglines.
This book did me in. I’m living for Lauren’s romcoms. I loved seeing Bennett’s sensitive side. Cats vulnerabilities. And seeing all the gang back together again. Just wanna stop and appreciate Grim and Rose(her skills came in handy..wink). This book had me giggling out loud. The smut was smutting. The cattle were displaced. And foods were ruined. I loved the nod to Unethical as well. Cat and Kindras friendship hitting a patch and the way they worked through it was admirable. Can’t wait for the next book!
"I will never be a good man, kitten, but I will be good to you." 🫠
All the same characters from the first one but with Cat and Bennett as the mains. There was an introduction of new character Eve who fit right in and she is a BadB!
I don't love how Kindra handles Cat with kid gloves. Other than that, I have no complaints. I loved this enemies to lovers. The banter is top notch. The door are wide open and it's hot 🔥 and obviously a new food has been ruined. 🍗 I don't even want to think about it.
This one focusing more on the couple than the unaliving activities of the winter retreat but I'm not mad at it.
A third in the series is on the way, I literally can't wait! Also the nod or Easter egg to Unethical 👩🍳💋
