Enjoyed this thoroughly. Took me a little longer than the others in the series to read, but really loved the character development and the theme of friendship and healing <3 (also totally loved the smut, of course)
The fourth in the series. This time the book is focused around Nesta and Cassian and how Nesta finds her place in the Night Court.
What I liked about the book:
- There was chapters of some of the main characters, not just Feyre
- Didn't just cover war again
- Very female empowered book
- Friendships were well written
- Enjoyed the romance and it balanced well with the story
- Came to like Nesta as a character
- Well written
What I didn't like about the book:
- Far out it was massive, I found it really hard to hold whilst reading and was switching from ebook to physical book to keep myself comfortable

I read this a second time around, and i still feel so deeply connected to the characters and, this time around, having my own Valkyries in my life it made for a very intimate readalong with my souls people.
“Why did you sign up for this, then?” Nesta drank the glass Gwyn extended. “If you already have mind-calming exercises you’re accustomed to?”
“Because I don’t ever want to feel powerless again,” Gwyn said softly, and all those easy smiles and bright laughs were gone. Only stark, pained honesty shone in her remarkable eyes.
Never again.
Never again would she be weak.
Never again would she be at someone’s mercy.
Never again would she fail.
Never again, never again, never again.
I am the rock against which the surf crashes. Your thoughts are the surf. Let them crash over you.”
Gwyn smiled again, her eyes bright. “Our stories are worth telling.”
Gwyn whispered, “I am the rock against which the surf crashes.” Nesta straightened at the words, as if they were a prayer and a summons. Gwyn lifted the blade. “Nothing can break me.”
Cassian’s throat tightened, and even from across the ring, he could see Nesta’s eyes gleaming with pride and pain.
Emerie said, “Nothing can break us.”
That’s the key, isn’t it? To know the darkness will always remain, but how you choose to face it, handle it … that’s the important part. To not let it consume. To focus upon the good, the things that fill you with wonder.”
