If We Were Villains is a dark & twisty read. I liked the campus setting and the way that the program was cult like, however, I didn’t love the pacing. The murder happened early on and then life resumed as normal with almost no discussion or investigation. I would have been more forgiving if the reveal was especially shocking or interesting, but it was predictable. I was shocked to see that this was written by a woman, especially with the character of Meredith. Ultimately, an interesting read but not a must read.
