A hilarious take on the Austen classic with just enough sprinkle of the original story to keep you grounded. Winters version of events kept me laughing with each page and looking for the hidden jokes within the words. Austen's original tale is enlightened in this slight re-telling and it hard to put down.

Hilarious spin off of a great classic novel. This book keeps most of the original story's major plotline and character development while throwing the characters into a strange world full of man's battle with the ocean and the monsters who live there. From basic characters being made...ahem...more interesting, to underwater cities, and crazy technology this reads like a fun and crazy fanfic that most Austen lovers with a sense of humor would enjoy.

Jane Austin, meet H.P. Lovecraft. I think you two will enjoy each other.

I never liked Jane Austen and found this book annoying for the same reasons but I do like sea monsters, they are the saving grace of this book.

This should be really shelved under 'didn't really start' instead of 'did not finish' as I read about 1 chapter and realised I needed to read Sense and Sensibility, not just watch the movie. So I stopped reading it, intending to start it again once I read Sense and Sensibility, but decided to give Pride and Prejudice and Zombies a go in the meantime (read the original many times). I hated Pride and Prejudice and Zombies so much that I just couldn't stomach having another go at Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters (I have also deleted Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter from my 'to read' shelf), it just sounded like a good way to ruin a classic that didn't need updating or reinventing.
