Moments of profundity but otherwise a mess. Rambling, disjointed and tedious.

Started off as an interesting look at a mature woman dealing with death and a lack of romance in her marriage. Then it started to go downhill by the end it was more like an old woman reading her journal/dairy as a recording. BORING!!!!

There will be no video review for the book.

Im not really sure what it says about the book when I just realized Ive read it before. After I was finished reading it, again. I had little inklings of remembrance in certain parts but couldn't be sure. But now I know.

It read more like a series of connected essays on getting older than a novel. Having read and enjoyed Fear of Flying 20 years ago, I found the references to Isadora Wing to be forced and unnecessary, as if Jong was just trading on her greatest success.
