This is the way dark romance is supposed to be written. And I'll die on that hill.

This was so messed up, I don’t even know what to say.

The FMC was insufferable and it was obviously Batman corn.

This is between 4.75 to 5 reading for me but I want to give it a full 5 only because the ending surprised me. This is not a run of the mill dark romance book. It had a story - a really painful and sad story and no one got an HEA. Christian was complicated to the core and Elena wasn’t a spineless FMC. A solid read and the ending will make the book be in my mind for a long time.

If you can ignore how predictable the twists are, it’s a very good book. Elena was a bit annoying at times for me, but the Silencer was great. Love the obsession, however toxic.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This book ruined me in the most beautiful way.
It’s been days, and I still can’t stop thinking about it. I’ve read “no happy ending” dark romances before (Psychotic Obsession wrecked me), but nothing, nothing, prepared me for Under Your Scars. This isn’t just bittersweet. This is brutal. Final. Logical. And it will bleed you dry.

The character work here is some of the best I’ve ever read in the genre. Christian isn’t perfect, far from it , but every decision he makes is rooted in a painfully consistent emotional truth. Eleanor is his mirror, his match, the only one who fits into the jagged spaces of his soul. Their connection is built on shared generational trauma, obsession, and a love that is as destructive as it is undeniable. Even the side characters feel alive, layered, flawed, unforgettable.

And the spice? Perfect.
This is exactly the kind of spice I want in a dark romance, emotionally charged, raw, unflinching, and soaked in meaning. It’s not just there to shock or titillate; it’s woven into the emotional fabric of the story, hitting you on every level at once.

I don’t often praise endings that break me, but here’s the thing, the ending makes sense. It’s the right ending for these characters. I didn’t want it. I still don’t accept it. But it’s real, and it’s earned. And maybe that’s why I can’t move on.
“Mommy said there would be pancakes”, words that will haunt me forever.

If I could give every star in the universe to this book, I would.
Six stars. Perfect. Unforgettable.
