Under Your Scars is a beautifully brutal, soul‑shaking dark romance. It’s got compelling characters, morally messy relationships, raw emotion, and a conclusion that haunts. But a hell of a warning: unless you’re ready for an emotional gut‑punch, this one will wreck you.

📚 Genre: Dark romance / romantic tragedy
⚡ Tone: Intense, gritty, emotionally harrowing
🍂 Ending: Tragic, not HEA
⚠️ TW: Assault, violence, suicide, stalking, abuse

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)

Wow. This book absolutely gutted me—in the best and worst ways.

It’s raw, gritty, and emotional. This story isn’t just about love—it's about trauma, obsession, redemption, and the things people do when they’re desperate to feel whole.

We follow Elena whose life takes a brutal turn after a violent attack. From there, she's drawn into the lives of two very different men—one a cold, enigmatic billionaire, the other a serial killer who believes she saved him. Yeah... it’s as wild as it sounds. But somehow, Anderson makes it all feel disturbingly real.

The emotional intensity in this book is no joke. There were moments I had to put it down just to catch my breath. The chemistry? Explosive. The twists? Heart-stopping. And the ending? Let’s just say I’m still not okay.

If you're someone who needs a happy-ever-after, this might not be your book. But if you’re open to stories that explore love in its darkest, most painful forms—stories that stay with you long after the last page—Under Your Scars is a must-read.

I need to talk….. This was a roller coaster of emotions. I love a dark romance but this - this has me wanting to check into therapy! I sat staring at the wall for ages.
Some of the subjects in the book were close to home and felt it was tastefully written especially with regard to mental health.
I listened to this on audible and the narration was brilliant!
I would check your trigger warnings and the author notes! I don’t really have any triggers but congratulations Ariel you have officially broken me!
