Loved this book! I find Lynn Painter hilarious and the banter and chemistry between her characters is top-notch. I was giggling and kicking my feet. Love. Love. Love.

I wanted to love this book, but I couldn’t. Max’s double standards and Sophie’s crazy work situation were just too much for me. I like a cheesy, predictable love story as much as the next person, but this was just too much for me.

This book took me forever to read it felt like. Especially for how short it was. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't super captivating. I found Sophie to be annoying most of the time. I was a sucker for Max though. It was way spicier than I thought it would be, almost too spicy. I thought Larry and Rose were fun side characters, but sometimes the other side characters were forgotten about and then randomly brought up again like the author suddenly remembered they existed. My favorite parts of the book were from like 50% to 75%. I enjoyed the story overall, but probably won't think about it much.

This book was a delight

Lynn Painter is really good at writing friends to lovers, but I really struggled with this one. Sophie is 'not like other girls', very pick-me coded. I couldn't get past it, and it was just sort of flat overall for me. Go read The Love Wager or Accidentally Amy and maybe give this one a miss. 2 stars for all the cats
