I picked this up immediately after reading Compass Rose, which I loved. Both of these books are great. I love the others description of things and the way the main characters are built. I really hope the saga continues soon.

I read this thinking it was a stand alone, but there was a first book, compass rose. So I went in to the story a bit blind. Anna Burke did a good job at filling in the missing pieces for a reader like me, but it would have been good to have that prior knowledge, especially because there’s a ton of political intrigue…
There was a ton of cussing, which was okay, and a heck ton of trauma! Not really my genre style, but it was a cool concept.
