So this series kept me engaged, but I definitely loved the first book the most.

eARC via NetGalley.

I am assuming this is a Novella, since it's only 160 pages long.

In Scala, Myla have to work against the clock on finding the Lucifer's Orb and come up with a solution to deal with Adair's devious scheme.

Adair was pain in the ass in this book, like Myla said, bitch be cray-cray. She was quite irrational and obsessed with Lincoln. To be honest I thought it was a bit over the top. I find it odd that everyone just accepted her weird behaviors. Not to mention Adair did lie about her being the Scala heir, She even admitted herself in Angelbound. But for some reason because Adair denial that ever happened, everyone just pretended that never happened. What's up with that?

I was surprised to find that it was possible to steal a Great Scala's power, Adair managed to steal Myla's power and could've become the new Great Scala if Myla didn't find a way to stop her. Even if Adair was a special case, still though, does this mean that just about anyone can become the Great Scala if they are able to find a way to acquire and achieve all conditions to become the Great Scala?

I think Scala is a good follow up after Angelbound, this book does address the issues of Adair and her house, which I am very glad.

Happy reading!

Wow, this book was amazing.
I picked it up because I wanted something to read but the current book I was reading I couldn't read anymore because I was waiting for a friend to catch up to buddy read it. I am so glad I picked up this book. I literally could not put this down. I mean literally. I started it at 7pm and finished it at 11.30pm it was just so gripping and I don't know if it was me but there were somethings that were totally unexpected. I loved the books and I loved the characters.
The book was rather short only 25 chapters long but I will say that this is the first book of 2015 to hook me so much that I forgot to worry about my university coursework, which if you knew me and knew how much I stress about that is a very powerful thing.
It takes a lot to make me give something 5 stars but this book deserved it.
In all honesty I can't really think of much I did not like about the book, the only thing I could think of if I was being really really picky was the penultimate chapter felt like page filler,
Spoiler showing off a happy ending with all working out well
. However this may have been because I was super tired at this point but refused to put the book down until I finished.
Definitely well worth a read. Plus its really cheap on Kindle. Well it was when I purchased it!
