Put this book down and felt very "Well. That was certainly a book I read!"

Not a bad novel by any means. I think seeing exactly how the encounter with David played out gives a little more weight and context to why they completely stopped talking with him after that, and I feel like I have a slightly better grasp of Rhys since we don't get to look into his head very much in Evocation. A lot of Moira's emotional beats are very similar to what she goes through in Evocation though, so I wish I had been able to learn a little more about her as well.

Fun bonus material for the main story but nothing terribly exciting to write home about either. 6/10

I love these characters and I love this world. Although this book doesn't push the plot forward in this series I really enjoyed going back into Moria & Rhys past and seeing a glimpse into how they met aswell as their marital struggles in particular an issue that is mentioned in Evocation.

I expected it to be funnier. Instead it was a book about a couple who had been married for a year and barely talked to each other which caused a psychic entity to harass them in their own home. Then they talked about their issues and suddenly everything was okay. Seems to me they should have done some work on themselves before they got to this point. Everyone know good communication builds a solid foundation for a relationship. I was expecting humor. Instead I got married couple who ignores the obvious.
