I really loved this duology! I loved the plot line and the point of view from Alyce, really interesting perspective!

I really enjoy this kind of stories. When the villain is the hero. To follow the dark side of the fairy tale. To get insight of what happens to the bad guys in a story.
There is far to little books about what stories and adventures the villain goes thrue in a fairy tale.

A huge letdown after the first in the series. Fell into the annoying whiny-ness and bizarre unnecessary obstinacy and drama that seems like practically a YA prerequisite these days. Stressful, not enjoyable.

Kocham pierwszą część i miałam nadzieję, że tę również pokocham - niestety się zawiodłam. Mimo tego jak trzymałam kciuki za Alyce i Aurorę w pierwszej części, w drugiej natomiast nie mogłam ich znieść. Alyce mimo, że jest najpotężniejszą istotą w królestwie chodziła jak piesek za Aurorą, która ledwo ją tolerowała. Jedynie traciła w oczach swojego ludu, słuchając sapania się księżniczki, niszcząc to na co tak ciężko zapracowała. Chciałam, żeby Alyce była morally gray postacią, jaką się stała pod koniec pierwszej części, niestety zatoczyła tylko koło. Przez większość książki nawet średnio mnie interesowało co się tam dzieje (pewnie przez to, że nie działo się tam nic ciekawego), bo czułam jedynie zmagającą frustrację przez tą dwójkę.
Chciałabym, żeby więcej czasu poświęcono na Briar, tworzenie dworu, rady niż słuchania o Alyce, marudzącej, że nie może czegoś zrobić, bo co sobie pomyśli Aurora. 3 część w końcu miała w sobie dużo akcji i ogromnie mi się podobała, szkoda tylko, że reszta książki taka nie była.

I'm kind of torn on this series. I enjoyed the villainous parts more in Misrule, but i think the romance parts were better in book 1. Overall, I really enjoyed this series and I would say definitely give it a try if you're looking for a new take on the Sleeping Beauty story
A lot more complicated than the first book, and perhaps even a little too much. Still, a good read and a decent ending. A fine retelling.
