ALIEN VS PREDATOR: ARMAGEDDON: SciFi-Thriller by Tim Lebbon

After two pretty solid books on the developing Rage War, this final entry was a little bit of a letdown. Despite the losses in the previous books, this did suffer a bit from having too many characters, many of which were just hanging around not doing very much. The Xenomorph attacks were just there to be violent, with the motivation behind the attacks as whimsical as ‘just because’. Again the team ups between human and predator made for some awesome scenes, but I can’t help feeling this trilogy would have been better as a duology. The ending was a bold move, and has certainly left things open for some potentially really interesting stories.

The first two books in the rage war series were really good and the overall story and characters were very well done...but the writer spent so much time recapping via internal dialogue throughout the book that it frequently broke immersion and I found myself skimming disappointingly often. Although contrived constant reminders about story plot and character relationships almost ruined the story, it was a good ending for the series and I did enjoy the story.

Very satisfying ending to the series, with a good heaping helping of action and gore any fan of either Alien or Predator should scoop these up and give them a read. They're not too demanding and also seem to be setting up intrigue for more potential books for the series. Please write a fourth so I can see the predator homeworld

The final book in the series was a good solid, if a little predictable, story. As a collection i think it worked fairly well, without upsetting too much in peoples eyes of the Aliens and Predators. Its still very much a human focused story (how the humans will survive the war, humans being the rage etc).
Wont win any awards, but a solid popcorn type book.

Unusually for a trilogy – and especially given how strong the middle volume was – the third instalment is, disappointingly, the weakest. This is not to say it is not a solid enough conclusion to the Rage War. Lebbon ties up all the loose ends with pretty ribbons and bows, a lot of them made from the intestines and various organs and fluids of weird creatures who die horribly in gloriously-orchestrated solar-system-wide chaos and carnage. However, the ending so open-endedly screams ‘next’ at the reader that true closure is impossible. And, by the way, WTF happened to the Faze? Coming to think of it, WTF is the Faze? And will we ever get to see the Yautja homeworld?
