Man, things are really starting to come together here. The cliffhanger from the last volume is wrapped up a little too quickly, and I wish there was just a little more emphasis on it, but it works. Otherwise, there is a LOT that happens, some loose ends are tied up, some questions answered. You get a little more look at the history of the Cypresses and why they are the way they are. Still just a really riveting and well done book. You should check it out if you have any interest.

The tricky thing with reading comic volumes back-to-back is that it is now hard for me to remember what takes place in each volume and to have distinct thoughts and feelings about the individual volumes, rather than an overall impression of the series. I can’t remember if it took place in this volume or the next, but the plot point that I was genuinely interested in and found to be an interesting twist completely fizzled out with zero impact, which was genuinely disappointing.

My review is for the entire series, 1-8, and I'll post this same text for all 8 volumes. This is a solid, page-turning comic series in which Dana and Martha Cypress, two young women living in Wausau, Wisconsin, grapple with an event that changes everything forever: the recently dead come back to life. They appear to be just like before, with all their wits about them. But are they really the same? And who are those eerie, glowing beings stalking the woods? Dana, as a sheriff's deputy, has skills and grit to tackle the sinister mysteries behind the resurrections. Martha, or "Em", as she goes by, has a newfound grit of her own and a secret or two. This tightly-paced, action-packed, gore-soaked story arc is a great way to wile away some precious free time.

Still one of the most consistent and entertaining comics out there at the moment and an interesting and heartfelt take on people rising from the grave. The only problem is it's so long between each volume that I have to refresh my memory between each one.

If you set the story in Wisconsin and give it a intriguing plot, I will read your bloody horror comic.

The story is definitely coming back together. Fewer plot lines with more consistency

It's all coming together and I love it!
