Thank you Dell for this e-arc via Netgalley!
I think this book is a breath of fresh air. The stakes are never too high, the drama is somewhat believable (if you can believe that an international pop star can just leave in the middle of the night with no one noticing), and the town of Rome, Kentucky is such a Stars Hollow esque setting that made the reader feel like they belonged there too.
The grumpy/sunshine dynamic between Amelia and Noah is the perfect example of that trope. The pining and the heat between these two is palpaple. The slow progression of watching Noah break down his walls and inability to stay away from Amelia is so fun to watch because you really start to root for these two despite the odds that are stacked against them.
I absolutely love Rome, Kentucky. This town is so lifelike in terms of small town Americana and the cast of characters that inhabit it feels so fleshed out. Mabel and Harriet and Phil and Tom and all the other side characters we meet never fail to make me laugh.
My only complaint is that the ending feels very rushed and abrupt, like we're suddenly in it and is wrapped up pretty quickly. I only wish the last 50 pages were spread out a little longer.
This is one of my favorite books and I always love revisiting this story!

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing this ARC.
I didn't have high expectations for this book. I figured it would be a typical fluffy romance without anything too special. Despite not liking the narrator's style, I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook. (I can't find the German audiobook version
