I liked the romance development and the body and sex positive development of the FMC + fun worldbuilding
I can’t even begin to explain the chokehold this series has on me. I adore Casteel and the whole pining-pretending-can’t admit our feelings thing is just CHEF’S KISS. It’s so exciting to me when books get progressively better in a series. Fans of Throne of Glass should DEFINITELY pick this series up.

I would rate this book 2 stars, maybe even one, BUT this was a SPICY read. So bonus star. The internal monologues? Literally made me skip entire pages. Half the conversations? Skimmed at best because it’s the same 3 discussions. I genuinely only stuck this out most nights because some absolutely FLAMING spice pulled me out of the coma Poppy was putting me in.
But then the last 100 pages made me just curious enough to read the third. Well played.
