3.5 stars.

What I liked:
ADAM.
Olive and Adam’s relationship was cute. But mostly Adam.

What I hated:
The amount of times issues in this book could have easily been resolved if Olive had merely COMMUNICATED with the characters was insane. I rolled my eyes a lot of times but admittedly also giggled just as much.

NOTE: not for young science readers - adult situations (sexual content) in book.

A cute, nerdy scientist book about Olive Smith going through grad school who convinces a professor to fake-date her. The proposal has benefits for both. Will the experiment be positive or negative?

Honestly, 4.5. Do I love fake dating? Whew. Yes, there are a lot of questions directed towards Adam(MMC) but weirdly it worked. I need a book around Holden and Malcolm! Love them! ♥️ I couldn’t unsee Adam being modeled after Adam Driver and I love every second of that. Miscommunication was a bitchhhh in this book but at the same time I feel like a lot of Olive’s (FMC) miscommunication revolves around her anxious thoughts and it be like that sometimes. Cute little STEM focused story where they openly talk about book tropes, lol.

I really thought I was going to like this book as it was so
hyped up, but I did not enjoy it at all. I found the story
really bland and unrealistic, the situation that led to
Olive kissing Adam was something I couldn't get over
as it was impractical. I also found Adam had no personality? He was just moody and that's it. As for Olive, I found her really childish and irritating. Safe to say I didn't connect with either of the characters.
Personally, this is not a book I would recommend I
ended up dnfing it.
