This is the first fantasy book I have read in a long time. I enjoyed it much more than I expected to. The story has almost no slow points, it just kept accelerating until the end. It also did a phenomenal job of telling a story about a woman in a genre that often excuses violence against women as thematic. I both wish there was more book to read, and am also impressed by how concisely a satisfying story fit into 240 pages.

This was the first book I've read from T. Kingfisher, and it was such a nice treat ❤️ Amazing and lovable characters, exciting adventure and a very satisfying ending. Of course, I'd love to see more of these characters, but the story was very nicely concluded. And I hope I'll find my Fenris one day. 😍

Loved this book way more than I thought I would.  It took a bit to get into how the story was unfolding, but once the whole gang got together, the story took off for me.  Even though there were quite a few dark elements, I felt like this was such a cozy story.  I loved the little romance that developed between Marra and Fenris, and the platonic relationship between Agnes and the dust wife.  This was my first book by this author and I will definitely check out their other books in the future.

Always enjoy this author's work. The few monsters we meet are fun to imagine, it's very fairytale in its way, it has a dog.
