This is a character-driven book and I really liked the first half of it. After that I struggled to find interest in the plot (and the characters) which just seemed to repeat itself. Some of the dark clouds hanging over the protagonist had simply hung there for too long and they weren’t that exciting anymore. I think this could have been a much better book if it wasn’t 700 pages long.
