I'm giving up on this series. I can't stand the writing and I'm too annoyed with the characters to keep going. These books are way too cheesy for me, but I still love the television show. It's a lot better than the books...and that's very unusual.
Sookie is beginning to lose her charms for me. Something odd I've noticed about this series--each book seems to be written worse than the previous one. Isn't it usually the other way around?
I think I'm going to quit the series. I get so bored with all the extra characters and keeping them all straight. This book was good in the beginning of the middle, but then after that I thought it just went downhill. I don't even really know what happened at the end because I was reading but not paying attention.
Well, I've gotta say that this is probably my favorite so far of the "Southern Vampire Mysteries" (a.k.a. "The Sookie Stackhouse Novels").
I think Harris went a little heavier on the fantasy aspect in this one, introducing us to new kinds of creatures that inhabit the "Sookieverse" and even throwing in an epic battle of sorts.
Along with all that, this one just felt more soundly written as I read it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one and am waiting to see where Harris will take us in "Dead as a Doornail".

Sookie rescues amnesiac Eric, and an otherworldy battle breaks out!
This is probably my favorite book so far in the series and I'm a little disappointed on how it ended. I'm a huge Eric and Sookie fan and this is just all that besides of course the pretty awesome battle with the hybrid Were/witches. You get much more into the world that surrounds Sookie without it being overwhelming and it opens the door to some new characters that I hope we get to read more of later on.
