read that Mindy Kahling bought the rights for this Muslim You’ve Got Mail inspired romance and I had to read it. I think the movie could be more successful as the male perspective isn’t in the book and it’s the one weakness.

This was a hilarious, dramatic, sad, happy, and beautiful story and so wonderfully written. The characters were so easy to love and the way that the story played out was great. I really liked the use of transcripts from Hana's podcast to add emotional punctuation at key parts of the story. I also liked that the author didn't either hide what the little mysteries were in Hana's situation nor was she too blatant about it. The tone and pace were perfect to keep me rapt and the way everything wrapped up was so perfectly moving and satisfying without being cheesy that it makes me almost sad to walk away from the book now that I've done reading it.

I quite enjoyed this book - and going into this, having read Ayesha at last last week, I lowered my halal-radar/ halal-expectations a lot which made this book far more enjoyable.

It was predictable but sweet, and I really appreciate the emphasis on family and familial values.

This was a cute read, I did enjoy it!

A very fun read. Light and gentle, with a bit of the personal-political. An engaging romance / coming-of-age via a young, modern, Muslim-Canadian perspective.

Solid 4.5, the radio stuff bored me a little but the family relationship and the relationship between Hana & Aydin was really special. Loved learning more about different cultures .
