Brilliant! I tried so hard to read slowly through so that I could make it last. I loved the tidbits from cast and crew about notable episodes and I learned so much. The dedication, effort, and love put into this book is obvious from page one. This book is a must-read for any Golden Girls fan!

I love Golden Girls. I was introduced to the show just a few years ago and I've already binge watched the entire series 2.5 times. It's addictive and silly but also has some serious heart and tackles a lot of issues and still holds up all these years later. This book is a must for any Golden Girls fans- it has behind the scenes looks at several episodes, the ladies themselves, set design, costumes, etc. I really learned a lot and got a whole new look into the show I love. This includes several interviews from people who worked on the show so there was lots of insider information. I was immediately in the mood to rewatch the entire series the second I had finished the book and I definitely put this on my book wish list so I can revisit the book with each episode I watch for more behind the scenes info. Also the design of this book was absolutely gorgeous!
This is the greatest book I have ever read. I am not exaggerating. This is the ur-text for the rest of my life.
Watched the entire way through the show and read this book as I went along. Man do I wish books existed like this for other favorite shows!

I read this book as a guilty pleasure; first after school got out, and a definite change of pace! I had heard a radio interview with the author and immediately reserved it from the library. Many of the back stories are so interesting, and I got a better appreciation for all that goes into filming a television show. I especially liked the different points of view within single episodes, and found the end notes about props and costuming more fascinating than I expected. There were times that I read about an episode and wished I had the opportunity to pull it up and watch immediately, and a few episodes I didn't remember at all. Some of the social commentary became a bit repetitive. I know that when I watch "The Golden Girls" in the future, I will appreciate it even more, if that's possible.
I’m a big fan of the Girls so I came into this book biased but I thought it was a lot of fun on its own. You get some good insight into the episodes and their production.
Over the years, I've wished that someone would write a behind-the-scenes look at one of my all-time favorite shows. It turns out someone did! It was published four years ago and I don't know how it escaped my radar but I was thrilled to get this for Christmas and was engrossed in it for several days. Here you will find detailed information on how the show was cast, stories and photos about the set designs and costumes and an analysis of 100 memorable episodes. Juicy details about guest stars and the mechanics of the show are revealed in a very engaging writing style. One small quibble - the episodes that are covered are not always the best episodes (in my opinion). For example, one of my favorites is the bowling tournament episode. It is not included. However, the awful episode with Mario Lopez as Dorothy's student is. There is also no index and one would have been helpful. Otherwise, a super fun book. I love it!
