I will have to say this is my favorite reference book of all time. The detail is amazing.
This is about as good as it gets for Golden Girls fans! Sure, I wish every single episode had been covered, and that there had been a larger section on the fashion and sets, but that seems nitpicky after all of the attention, detail, and care that went into the making of this book. Interesting, fun, and funny, I loved reading Golden Girls Forever!

I could have plowed through this in a day or two, but i kept forcing myself to put it down so it would last longer and I could savor it. Beautifully designed (seriously, the best I've seen in years) and just an excellent, moving, heartfelt tribute to our favorite Girls. It has a lot of information at the beginning about how the show got conceived and cast, overviews of some of the best episodes, behind the scene details, and odes to the show and actors by all sorts of people who feel changed by the presence of the show in their life. If you liked the show at all, it's a ton of fun.
I enjoyed reading some details from behind the scenes and the episodes. however it could have been a lot shorter without so much commentary about guest stars and other things loosely related to the show.
Gets a little dull just reading about the guest stars episode after episode, the earlier sections were more interesting. Maybe read this as you re-watch
Given the choice between trying a new show or watching Golden Girls reruns, I take the latter. GG is one of my go-to TV binges when I'm feeling down, so definitely I picked up this book. I enjoyed reading the story behind its development and the oral histories from people involved in various episodes deconstructed by the author. The one takeaway you get from GG, which the book affirms, is the show's timelessness. I'm reading about the many people who have appeared on the show and realize so many have passed away...yet they don't seem like old people. Then you remember The Golden Girls' original run was 30 years ago. o.O
While I enjoyed the book, I'll take off points for the section where various celebrities talk about their favorite Girls and such. I would rather have seen that space go to more episode analyses.
Really, though, it's a book for die-hards.
