Major inconsistencies in the plot, it's like it was abridged. Clued in within the first 20 minutes that the writer must be a man. The main character is terrible
and I don't mean anything explainable by her reveal at the end, I mean how is it possible she wouldn't immediately connect the name Schultz on "Cormac's" payment to Peter, it's not like she had forgotten all about it, she was thinking about it all the time! Not to mention the 3pm appointment becoming 10am. It seems like it was maybe supposed to imply he saw her more times than what is included in the story but they picked up their conversation from the prior appointment. It would have been better if more appointments not discussed had happened because she saw him in her office, what, three times before she decided to compromise her career and family for a guy young enough to be her son?
This book needed a (different) editor. I have no idea how it's so highly rated on Audible, it has like 4.5 stars there. At least it was free on there. I finished it out of spite.
