i LOVE callum omg he's the best one by far, also nico and gideon in this one...... nice

I still enjoyed reading this book but it wasn't as good as the first one imo. It didn't drastically develop anything from the first book except for the character of Libby Rhodes - which came about near the end of the book anyways. I don't know if I'll read the book that follows this, I feel that I'm quite happy with the small cliffhanger that we were left on.

i feel like i’ve had a bit of a slow start with the first two books so far, but i’ve overall enjoyed the story. i do wish the characters had more differentiation between their internal monologues. they all tend to monologue about philosophy and physics and whatnot in the same way.

One thing that I love tremendously about this book, is how each of the characters feel so 'real' and so 'human'- and what I mean by this, is that they all have their own reactions to the world around them. They have their own opinions about what is going on within the Alexandrian Society, about Atlas Blakely, about who to trust, who not to trust, what happened to Libby Rhodes and if it mattered at all. They feel so human, in the sense that their reactions to it all and how they're growing from it feel like if it were simply their truest stories.

The character growth in this book is absolutely beautiful, and by the time I was at the end, I almost felt a bit of pain in my heart knowing that the journey would be over soon within the trilogy.

What did I just read?! I honestly have no love for this book, and do not understand people's obsession with its pages. If I never read this book again, it will be a blessing and I mourn the 20+ hours of my life lost to this terrible story.
