adventurous mysterious medium-paced

It's good but not as good as the first one. I liked it tho

It didn't really add much to the storyline apart from the fact we finally learn about Tristan's powers a bit more, and that Callum isn't a total dick. Would have liked a bit more insight to carry on as to what the endgame is..

The story continues. Everything is liked from the first novel is back. Mainly the fascinating flawed characters with godly but specific magic.
However all the momentum that was building at the end of book 1 dies nearly instantly and it all goes back to slow building of characters. Very little actually happens. The things that do are hidden at the end of chapters as a cliffhanger only for the tension to disappear because it has been 4 or 5 chapters before you return.
Things that were so clear and simple in book 1 become muddied and a bit lost in book 2.
I still liked it alot. But I am not even sure what the characters are motivated by anymore. Or what they are fighting for. There was a half explained thing about the library killing them slowly for no reason. What happened to the end of the world plot.

This series started with such a great concept. The second book however lacked flow and direction. It felt like the author bit off more than they could chew with the number of side plots, many of which felt unnecessary.

3/5

Oproti Atlasově šestce je druhý díl trochu zklamáním
