I liked a lot of this novel! I love Abel so much, and I was constantly worried for his safety. He's just such a cute cinnamon roll!

I was also worried about Abel turning Noemi into a hybrid, but it worked out better than I expected. I thought she would freak out and make it this big deal at the beginning. But she took it extremely well for the situation she found herself in, like whoa, she's a powerhouse. There were parts close to the end, where she voiced her opinions or worries about her new body, which were totally valid, and Abel took it personally?
Like, she was talking to him about not making all the decisions for her, especially in life and death situations, and he takes it as her saying she doesn't think he matches with a certain level of humanity? What? I was so shocked by that leap of logic, it completely took me out of the story and I was confused for a hot minute. And then I was annoyed! I thought we were done with this topic!
The renewed drama of Abel thinking that Noemi doesn't see him as being the same as a human is frustrating and I think overused in this series, and this book. Ugh, I thought we were over that whole idea because they had discussed it enough in the last 2 books!!!

Here are some of my other thoughts that I wrote down as I read:

Love the consortium tattoo tradition. I thought it was cool that each tattoo would be different by the rider's ship and their meaning for fighting. I thought it was cool that each person would have a unique tattoo, yet still fight for a common cause and as a mass collective. I liked Abel's reasons for his tattoo and was very glad he did not get Noemi's name tattooed on his arm, that would have been awkward. Though funny if Burton Mansfield would have had to deal with it. XD

I'm sad that Noemi and Abel got separated again! Just let them be together! :(

I am glad and impressed by how well Noemi seemed to adjust, mentally and physically to her new body, very cool. :)

Gillian taking Abel, not once but twice!? Ugh, I hoped we were done with her. I get why we couldn't be and that the story needed closure, but I'm done with her. I just want Abel to be happy and Noemi to be okay.

I like how Noemi phrases stopping Genesis' plan to destroy Earth. They are still projecting Genesis, just the peoples' morals and ideals instead of the physical planet. Beautifully put!

Liked the quote, "Grief doesn't excuse [Gillian's] behavior, but perhaps it helps explain it." I love the perspective this quote gives! Anthropology at work!

Oof, intentionally making mechs that break, too close to the Real Earth! :(

Another quote, "The scariest possibility [of immortality] is outliving anyone who may care about you. Perhaps without love, I think immortality could only be very bitter." Great point.

I love that Abel used a Smasher's body for a bit. I was fully invested and I loved getting to see the world from a different mech's body. Smart on his part! I thought his whole mental transfers were so cool! Thought I was extremely stressed for a minute there! I was glad he got to talk with Robin Mansfield though, I thought it was fitting and I was so glad when he helped her pass away!

I really like how they got to connect through the data! All too cool and really made me jealous. Plus, Abel's so cute!

P.393: Yes! SMASH!! MUHAHAHAHA!!! >:)

I wish I had felt more at the ending, I wanted Noemi and Abel to interact more in the last chapter, but that didn't happen :(

Overall, I really liked this series and it's the first romance I have ever found where the couple actually are enemies-to-lovers, and it was extremely refreshing. Thanks for such a fun and thrilling journey! Sad to see it go! <3

3.5 stars maybe? I’m unsure of my star rating atm. I enjoyed the book. It’s not utterly disappointing but I felt like I was reading the first two books again. Which is why it took two months to read. (But the summer months seem to be my reading slump months so who knows) I still absolutely adored Noemi and Abel. Their relationship is one of the best romances I have ever read. Take note young adult novelists!

I think I would have found this book more enjoyable if I could have chopped the entire middle out of it and only been left with the first 100 and last 150 pages. The middle just felt bland to me, but the beginning and ending helped to salvage it some. Still a great way to end a trilogy!

I thoroughly enjoyed this series. This was a great ending to a fascinating story. It asked a lot of deep questions, and leaves you to ponder them. Definitely recommended.
