Definitely shows it’s age but also has some really interesting themes.

Great story - it was fun, funny, romantic, and entertaining. As usual, the dialog between Crusie's characters was fantastic. She always manages to make me laugh (out loud) while reading her books. Definitely one of my favourite authors these days!

This was really fun to listen to while knitting away on the tread mill. A straight up fun romance novel that harkens back to the old black and white slap-stick movies.

Daisy is a former teacher who quit her job to become an artist and a story teller. Linc is a straight laced professor who lives in a very crisp, clean and organized world. (Think of a house decorated by Sharper Image and you will get Linc in a nut shell.)

Linc applies for a position at his dream college - and when he fears he will loose the position because he is not married - he invents a wife. This is where Daisy - professional storyteller comes into the picture.

I know this story has been told a billion times, (Didn't Sandra Bullock just have a movie like this in fact? She had to marry her co-worker to stay in the country or something?) but I really enjoyed this version of it. The story was simple but the characters were enjoyable and I would find myself thinking about them when I wasn't listening to my audio book. (and almost pulled a double session to hear the end of the book because I didn't want the story to stop!)

This would be a perfect book to curl up with on the couch on a rainy day with a big warm blanket and just drink tea (coco?) and read.

You can definitely tell this is one of Jennifer Crusie's earlier books. It's not a bad story in and of itself, but it's a bit more abrupt and disjointed compared to her later work. I'm happy to have read this since I love Jennifer Crusie, but I will probably stick to "Bet Me" and "Welcome to Temptation" if I would like a Crusie fix.

This book shows it’s age a bit, but there are some big themes that pop up for a second and that’s kinda fascinating. Is it okay to change for someone? Is there a loss of personhood when you become a couple?

I’m completely fascinated with the succinct phrase “unreal but not untrue.”
