A good reality check view of the climate crisis and how doomisum is used as a tactic and how to combat it.

In a world where it feels like we're facing constant despair, this book feels like both a ray of sunshine and a call to action. With reminders about how far we've come and visions about what the future could look like if we take action, this is the climate crisis book I was looking for. I love how a great variety of voices are featured throughout this anthology, especially indigenous and Pacific Islander voices.
Definitely needed this. I find climate change to be incredibly scary, but I feel safer and more powerful going into the unknown after listening to this book.
This collection of essays is one I now want to purchase in print after listening to on audiobook, mostly for several powerful quotes regarding hope, joy, and wonder in the face of climate chaos. The book is not pollyanna-ish or naive; it grapples with the reality of a changing climate. But it is grounded in the collective, in community as what we truly have as a powerful fighter to this crisis.

Some of the essays in this book are so inspiring and thought provoking. I think everyone who is worried about the climate and biodiversity emergencies should read it.

This book is a much needed antidote to the ubiquitous doom and gloom of much of the writing and media on climate change. It is a book about hope, community, love, possibility, and solutions. It is a reminder that this world and the beauty within it is worth fighting for, that it is absolutely Not Too Late, and that it is our choices now that determine the future. I will be coming back to several of these essays often.
"So what do we do when the world is ending? The same things that so many of the giants ow whose shoulders we stand did when their worlds were ending. We choose to face our despair-to walk toward it and through it-choose to take action, choose to build movements. We do it because we don't know how it ends, because there are possibilities out there that we simply can't see from here."- Yotam Marom
